House fire displaces a family

Donation protected
If you think you got it bad, think again.

On July 1, I met a family all by chance; I say this strongly because out of the 4 intakes I had to do for a company I volunteer for, I cancelled all but one.
Upon arrival, I was greeted by group of smiling faces, all coming out of a small duplex. As we handed out the gifts we had for them, Bernie (who I was there to see) was nowhere to be found.
I was told that they had to rush him to the hospital for an emergency surgery. He was diagnosed with Testicular Cancer. Bernie was taken into surgery to place a port on his chest for chemo and to remove one of his tumors.

Susie was diagnosed with Lupus, she was in a coma for 6 weeks and has been on
chemo for two years now.

Wait!! And I can’t forget about little Jasmine who started having seizures for unknown reasons. If that wasn’t enough, they were all dealing with this while being homeless.

As I learned more about their situation I was in shock. I kept asking them, “Is anybody helping you?”

I started asking questions:
Did you get a bid for the house?
Did you meet an adjustor?
What did they say?
Did the insurance pay you out?
Is your house getting fixed?
What is going on?

I want to tell you that the house is fixed but it’s the complete opposite.
When this story aired back in December of 2013, this is what was aired and released. Click below and after you’re done come back so you can hear the untold story.

It’s been six months and the house is still burnt!

The restoration company that was called out wrote up a bid for the loss of $60,000. The insurance company paid them out $40,000 which was not enough to fix the house, so the mortgage company told them to apply for a loan.
It was declined for credit issues, so the mortgage company told the family to pay off their home and that would help them out. IT WAS DECLINED AGAIN.
Every step of the way they have hit a wall.

Please help me help The Flores Family.

As you see, this family of twelve is in dire need of help. They need a place to live in and what moneys they have, now have to be used for medical bills that are quickly accumulating. They need funds that will help them rebuild their home. They need help with medical bills. Please, if you can, please help this fund grow. Pass this information on to others you know, together we can bring this family hope and faith that life can be “normal” again. Improving their quality of life will also improve our lives. May God bless you all.
