Flood Relief for Brian & DeAun Deshano

We are fundraising for Brian and DeAun who had their home destroyed in Edenville, Michigan during the Edenville dam collapse and subsequent flood. Their home and much of their property, including nearly all of their belongings, were destroyed or washed down stream.

If you know the Deshanos, you'll know them for their love of family and friends and their love of fishing and gardening (and sharing their harvest). If you haven't met them at their home or at work, then perhaps you've seen them working away at Good Stead Farm, washing produce, mowing the pasture or helping at the farmer's market stand. They are proud and hard working people who likely wouldn't want a gofundme campaign, but we are collectively stepping in because we love them too much to not help out.

DeAun and Brian have given so much to our community of friends and family. We are using this as an opportunity to give back to them in a time of great need. Thank you for your contribution as they work to start their life over.

A bit about us the fundraisers: My name is Sarah Longstreth, I am Brian and DeAun's eldest daughter.  I own Good Stead Farm just a mile from their home, where they're constantly lending me extra tools and their labor. Julia Kuhns joined me at the farm as an employee (from Minnesota!) four years ago and decided to stick around with us a bit longer. She still works alongside us at the farm, but is now also a part of our extended family.

Our plans with this campaign: Our goal with this campaign is to raise money that would allow them to replace basic items like clothing, shoes, jackets, basic living items to service their vehicles, stock their temporary pantry, clothes to go to work in and to obtain the items they need to get temporarily back on their feet. We anticipate that it will be some time waiting for FEMA's assistance and then from there, understanding their options for building a new home. We'd like to keep this a surprise and then give them the monies all at once!
