Fire Relief for Sister Malen & Family

Beloved Community,

Calling upon you for support in a time of need for our dear sister Malen, her partner Jake and his 6yo daughter Phoenix after they lost their home in the Almeda fire yesterday.

While these fine people are in good spirits considering all that they have lost, they also deeply need our support in rebuilding. They are currently moving around finding places to stay for their family, sweet 15y/o pup and a newly fostered bunny. This is A LOT to handle. Losing all material possessions AND trying to find stable ground before they can even start to *think* about rebuilding.

They evacuated quickly and in a panic, and beyond a few immediate necessities, people and pets, everything else was burned up.

This was the first place they had ever lived that truly felt like home, and they had just moved in August 1st of this year, ready to start a new wave of life together as a family.

The losses are huge...it all burned ALL the way down...Malen's car was left behind in the emergency, along with almost everything that they owned. An infrared sauna, exercise equipment, many deeply sacred, expensive and irreplaceable altar items, antique furniture and family heirlooms, jewelry, beds, all of sweet Phoenix's toys and clothes, as well as many new things they had saved and bought for their new place.

For those of you that know Malen & family, you know she gives A LOT to community. She has shown up in service for so many of us in such a generous way and it would mean the world to me, and them if some of that service could be repaid during her family's time of need.

Malen has held many of us through some of our most difficult and liberating moments. I know for myself, what I have received from her in the space that she is held for me is far more than I could ever offer here financially...and yet...everything helps.

They just found out this morning that their home had burned after seeing it on a Facebook video, they are still in shock, but holding a lot of gratitude in their hearts for being able to get out safely.  Right now they're moving around staying with friends while they work out what their next move is. They urgently need our support to have what they need in order to be able to find and settle into a new place. Please give generously.
