Please join me in supporting Fiona's Family House, a local NFP striving to radically improve the level of support available to young adults living with advanced cancer diagnosis.  

When founder (and our family friend) Laurel was diagnosed with terminal cancer at the age of 32, she discovered first-hand that there are significant gaps in the level of support available to those in her situation.  As if the cancer itself isn't enough of a nightmare, there are significant related financial and logistical hurdles to overcome: gaps in typical insurance coverage, lost wages, help with childcare, even well meaning medical staff who are not used to dealing with patients so young.

Laurel chose to leverage her experience working with nonprofits to build a foundation for those facing similar obstacles.  Fiona’s Family House strives to augment the missing services within our current system, and empower those diagnosed with advanced cancer live with their diagnosis: their families supported, their financial needs addressed, and their community better informed about these issues.  You can read more about their plan and vision at the Fiona’s Family House website .
