Our dear friend Stu, is currently fighting for his life. He was originally diagnosed with Bowel Cancer in 2017 aged just 42, and then given a stage 4 incurable prognosis in 2019. Life expectancy suggests only 5% live beyond 5 years and he is still bravely trying to beat the odds by leaving no stone unturned in his quest to spend as much time as he can with his fabulous family of 4 children and his fantastic rock, his wife Lisa.

After 34 cycles of chemo, 13 major surgeries and numerous other interventions, conventional treatments are inevitably running out as his body succumbs to the battering it’s been given over the years. Stu has tried to take a proactive role in his treatment, understanding the disease and researching as much as possible. The last chemo regimen that Stu underwent from April to July of 2022 was successful in shrinking the tumours. He has been lucky to have had private medical insurance provided by his fantastic employer Jaguar Land Rover throughout his treatment. However, in early 2023 Stu’s funding for treatment will end due to a necessary change in his employment contracts. The last chemotherapy regimen, which was so successful, is not available on the NHS. A 6-month course of this Chemotherapy regimen costs £40,000, which he and his family obviously cannot afford. Hence the sentiment – he is fighting for his life!

As a family, Stu and Lisa have raised thousands of pounds over the years to support worthy cancer charities and have never asked for anything to assist them personally. Stu is determined and enthusiastic with a zest for life and has maintained a positive attitude throughout the entire ordeal of this disease. He has dedicated his time as a cancer patient to raising awareness of cancer and its treatment whilst maintaining a humorous (some might say crazy) approach. He is a kind and loving father, a slightly annoying husband, and someone many is privileged to call a friend.
It has been overwhelming and humbling that so many friends have encouraged us to set up a donation page to contribute toward the enormous financial burden that a long battle with cancer brings. Balancing this burden is never easy whilst trying to maintain some quality of life, particularly when that life could be extremely short.

As a result, we have set up a GoFundMe page where any contribution would mean so much, and with your help, we can continue to get Stu the treatment he needs. I’ve wanted to help Stu and his family in some way since he was diagnosed, which gives all his friends and me an excellent opportunity to make a difference in their lives.
Please spread the word to help keep Stu and his family's hopes alive and prolong his time with us all.
In return, I know Stu pledges to do his part for fundraising, so apologies now! I, along with others, call his videos entertaining but his wife Lisa would say they are nothing short of Stu making a tit of himself!! Either way, Stu wants to be part of this to receive funding and help raise funds, so watch this space and expect many more silly videos!!
Thank you.
