As some of you will already know, our friends Lana Salah and Paul Borges recently lost their precious daughter Fifi to an aggressive DIPG brain tumour. In August last year little Fifi was admitted to Great Ormond Street Hospital where she was diagnosed this rare form of cancer. She died at home in the arms of her parents and her brother Oscar on January 18th 2018, just five months later. The shock and the trauma of losing a child is the most heart-breaking grief any parent could face. Life will never be the same again for our friends. As all of you who know Paul and Lana will testify, you could not meet two more generous, loving, hardworking people. Lana with her beautiful smile and her incredible talent for making everyone feel good about themselves. Many of you will know her from the TV community as the Series Editor of First Dates, Series Producer of Food Unwrapped and producer/director of various Jamie Oliver series for Channel 4. Paul, a universally loved builder in West London who gives the biggest bear hugs and who would do anything to help anyone. We are devastated for them. They have been giving care to Fifi for five months ithout being able to work and what they need now more than anything is time to heal their hearts. We want to show them our love and support by helping them take a family holiday and as much time as they need to grieve. Whatever you are able to donate would be amazing and so appreciated.
The family would love to see you all at Fifi’s funeral Friday 2nd February at 11am, at the church of St Mary & St Andrew, 216 Dollis Hill Lane, London, NW2 6HE. Please dress in a way Fifi would love - bright colours, sparkles and on favourite costumes are very much encouraged!
Following the service, Fifi will be laid to rest at Willesden New Cemetery, Franklin Road, Willesden, NW10 NTE.
From 12:30 until 8pm, there will be a wake and gathering suitable for both adults and children at William IV pub, 786 Harrow Road, Kensal Green, NW10 5JX. If preferred friends and family can go straight to the wake after the church service. There will be a coach from the church to the pub.
(Please note, parking is free around the church but around William IV it is very, very limited.)
