Dearest Friends of Jordan and Freer,
As most of you are aware, Jordan was diagnosed with HERNS (also known as RVCL) about 5 years ago after undergoing major brain surgery. HERNS is an extremely rare genetic condition, which affects the inner lining of the arteries and blood vessels causing disruption to the major organs. Jordan's family is one of just 15 families that have been diagnosed. The past few years have been very trying for the Ferenc family and in the past 6 months, Jordan’s health has quickly deteriorated. This disease is causing Jordan’s body to breakdown; he is now legally blind and is being treated for liver disease due to HERNS. Last week, the family received another setback when he was diagnosed with Hepatopulmonary Syndrome https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/hepatopulmonary-syndrome/symptoms-causes/syc-20373350 , which could cause him to need full time oxygen in the next few months.
Sadly, due to the of the rarity of this disease, very little research has been done on HERNS. Therefore, Jordan and Freer spend a great deal of time in doctors' offices and hospitals dealing with each new diagnosis as it occurs and learning alongside the doctors about this disease.
The money raised through this GoFundMe will help this family immensely and alleviate some of the financial stress the Ferencs are going through because of this horrible disease.
Some of the ways this money will be used:
- Out of network doctor visits and copays
- Uber rides to/from doctor appointments
- Train rides to NYC to meet with specialists
- Handyman to help with home repairs
- Making the house handicap accessible
- Weekly lawn mowing
- Bi-Weekly house cleaning
- Making family memories with Miller – Trips to the zoo, museums or plays
As friends, I know we have all offered to help in any way possible. It is now, that we take our offer and truly help Jordan, Freer and Miller, their 5 year-old daughter. The money raised in this GoFundMe will help the Ferenc family tremendously, no matter what amount you can contribute.
