Hurricane Maria relief Lopez Family

.To all my dear, dear friends who have offered to help or donate to Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria, this is for you.

My family in Puerto Rico needs our help. My uncle, his 3 children, and 9 grandchildren all live in Levittown, Toa Baja where the river flooded homes extensively. I haven't heard from them yet, but their last update was some were on their roof waiting rescue.  All I can do right now is pray they are together and well, and mobilize my own village to raise funds directly for their immediate needs.

There is no running water or electricity yet, cell service is spotty at best. The situation is dire and overwhelming.

There are many wonderful organizations providing disaster relief and fundraising for various causes. I have personally supported a few of them. Thank you to each and every one of you who have done the same. FEMA and NGOs have started distributing aid to hundreds of thousands, but there are 3.5 million Puerto Ricans needing immediate help.  Dozens are my extended family and friends. 17 of them are my own Lopez family. 

I hope to hear from my family shortly and decide if providing them these funds is best, or shipping them supplies better meets their needs. If you'd like to donate $5 or $20, each dollar can buy food, water, batteries, mosquito repellant, every bit helps.
