FUNDRAISER TO SHIP TWO DONATED FIRETRUCKS TO SAINT LUCIA
Saint Lucia has received a generous donation of two fire trucks from Firefighters Without Borders (FWB), which is a registered charitable organization in Canada, run by volunteers who are dedicated to equipping firefighters around the globe.
Firefighters Without Borders (FWB), has made several donations of firefighting equipment, such as personal protective gear, PASS alarms, protective boots and clothing, and numerous other related items, to the Consulate General of Saint Lucia in Toronto, on behalf of the emergency responders of the Saint Lucia Fire Service (SLFS). They have also provided training to assist emergency responders in meeting the challenges of responding to fire-related and other emergencies on island.
The mission of the Saint Lucia Fire Service, is to provide protection against loss of life and property, from the effects of fire, accidents, natural and man-made disasters and hazards, through preparedness, prevention, public education and emergency response, with an emphasis on quality services, efficiency, effectiveness and safety.
The Consulate General of Saint Lucia in Toronto, in collaboration with the Saint Lucian Associations in Canada, is working on making arrangements to have the two fire trucks shipped to Saint Lucia. Firefighters Without Borders has secured sponsorship for the shipping costs of one of the trucks, through the generosity of Metro Logistics Group Project.
We are now tasked with covering shipping costs of CAD$12,000.00, to get the second fire truck to Saint Lucia. We have therefore created a GoFundMe page, to seek assistance in raising funds to meet the associated costs.
