Etuate Tabs Needs to Feed Family

Etuate Tabs needs to feed his family...

Etuate has health problems. He's diabetic and can't do the normal work that is expected of men his age, in his village.  He has two children a boy in high school, with ambitions to go on to college and a girl in primary school.   His wife would like to turn the their old house into a store for the village.  They all work hard but could benefit from income source from outside of their community.  

Tabs is a smart man who knows and speaks English and is very capable of doing computer tasks.   You can friend him on facebook at Etuate Tabs 

He needs help turning this capability into an income source.  To make this possible he needs some captital investment in infrastructure and some training and other help.

Internet access is available from his Villiage via 4G mobile phone technology and 1/4 the price that it is in Australia.  

What is missing:

1) Reliable and affordable electricity. 

2) Computer platform to do the work. 

3) An Advance so he can buy internet access so he can train and then market his services.

4) Help with solution problem fit (lean-startp up jargon, if you don' t know what I mean here, the ask is not directed at you)

5) Selection of a services providers platform and help with using it and marketing his services through it.

6) Computer training to learn how to deliver requested services.

7) First Customers

Electricity
Electricy is available in his villiage but is expensive and unreliable.   We have purchased the BioLite Campstove 2  so he can turn the many sticks that they currently gather for their cooking fire into a reliable source of electricity.

Computer
We are thinking a Samsung tablet.  There are many providers in the area that also offer training and service. Depending if we think he can produce enough value with a tablet.  

Internet Access
Looking at setting up an account directly with a provider that we can fund for 2 years.

Service Offering
Need help from my Entreprenueral friends for this one. What services of value can Tabs be trained to market and provide.

Service Provider Platform
For now we are working with fiverr. 

Training 
Tabs' sons are very computer literate but we are also looking for other resources in the community.  I ran into a local manager of the Peace Corps Fiji who is going to help us find a local NGO that can help us deliver appropriate training and support.

We'd like to extend this beyond Tabs and his family, because we can't just highlight one family in the village. In order for this to stick, we need need a number greater then 4 ... if we can get more ... I would like to get more ...
