medical bills and treatment
Donation protected
A year ago our family moved from Virginia to Michigan, so Eric could pursue his career and I could finish school. Not long after moving to Michigan Eric became sick, very slowly at first with fatigue then progressed quickly over the next few months. We went from doctor to doctor being either misdiagnosed or referred to someone else. The bittersweet moment came when Eric was diagnosed with Lyme Disease. While we were happy to have finally found the cause we were once again disappointed after finding out treatment would be long, expensive, and very inaccessible. Eric has a form of Chronic Lyme Disease that has spread to his nervous system causing inflamation of his brain, making it very difficult to carry out daily tasks or helping to care for our daughter. After extensive research and the help from family and friends, we have found a doctor in Maryland who will treat Eric but unfortunately insurance will not cover the treatments. With Eric unable to work and having to travel to Maryland every three months the bills are going to pile up. We are having a benefit on Sept 13, 2014 to raise donations and awareness about this disease (see link). Any and all donations are greatly appreciated.
