Funeral Funds En Memoriam of Tom Hoffmann, Professor Emeritus
Tom Hoffmann, beloved composer, lost his life to a major myocardial infarction and arteriosclerosis on October 15th 2012. Hoffmann was a Professor Emeritus of University of Maine at Augusta, Orono, Colby College, Syracuse University of New York, and Trinity College of Music, London. Professor Hoffmann was a mentor to many talented students, many of which are now Professors in their own right. His works have been featured on such programs as the Morning Edition on NPR. Professor Hoffmann leaves behind a brother, his wife, 2 adult children, a nephew, a step daughter, a grandson, many cousins, and countless numbers of students and colleagues, all who have been deeply influenced by his life, his love, and his music. Always willing to help others, Tom gave freely of his time and talents. This deeply spiritual man was a kind and gentle soul. He deeply believed that his music was an extension of God, and that teaching music was his ministry.
