Emmaleigh's medical expenses

Hello I am requesting funds for a 15-year-old girl, she is from the Clear Spring, MD community. Her name is Emmaleigh Morris. She is an honor student with a 4.0 GPA, attending college classes in the fall to graduate high school with an Associate’s degree and plans to attend Georgetown University as a medical student. She is involved in many clubs and organizations within the community including 4-H, cross country, marching band, softball, and volunteer work at Meritus Medical Center. On June 2, she was burning brush with her sisters in their backyard when the wind picked up and she was caught up in the flames. She was then rushed to Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown and then flown to the John Hopkins Pediatric burn unit where she underwent a 3-and-a-half-hour surgery to remove the blisters,as well as the burnt and damaged skin. She is expected to be there for over 2 weeks or more, with trips to Hopkins 3-4 times weekly for physical therapy, continuous treatments for the burns, and much more when released. The flames burnt 30% of her body including her face, chest, legs and 3rd degree burns on her hands which may require skin graftss. The medical bills and expenses are going to be hefty. Her mother April Staley is a single mom that will be unable to work due to the extensive injuries Emmaleigh received and the continued care she will need. The family will be struggling to make ends meet with the now added medical bills and expenses. The community is hoping to take some of the burden off this family during this difficult time by raising as much as we can. We thank you in advance for your donations.
