Medical Fund For Emily Ruth

Donation protected
Our granddaughter, Emily Serna (Amanda’s 22-year-old daughter), needs radiation treatment for tumors that have grown in her brain. She has Neurofibromatosis type 2, a rare genetic condition. Three years ago tumors developed in her head and brain and along her spine.

She goes to Stanford Medical Center in Palo Alto, CA for medical treatment. It is a three-hour drive to Stanford from Madera. This means extra expenses for gas, food and hotels. We are raising money to help us cover the cost.

They want to start radiation treatment on five of the tumors that are growing. One tumor is right between the two hemispheres of her brain. Unfortunately, the tumors along her spine and in her inner ear are non-operable.

Without the procedure the tumors will keep growing. They will cause more migraine headaches, compromising her quality of life. Eventually the tumors will cause seizures. We must treat them soon.

As many of you know, Emily has received medical treatment since she was eight months old. She has a rare form of muscular dystrophy called Mitochondria Myopathy.

She is currently a student at Clovis Community College. She goes to Valley Children’s Hospital twice a week for infusions.

We are asking for both one-time gifts and small monthly donations. Please consider giving once a month for the next six months. Thank you so much. This means so much to us.

We also ask that you keep us in prayer as her journey to healing begins.

Please help Emily get the treatment she needs.

Much Love,

Noe and Elida Perez
