Help Emily and Emma Rebuild Their Lives After a Holiday House Fire Just Destroyed Everything They Own
It all started Saturday afternoon…
Sitting around the cozy fireplace in their family room with their mom, Emily (10 years old) and Emma (5 years old) heard someone pounding on their front
door.
As their mom opened the door, they saw their next-door neighbor standing there with a panicked look on his face. She’d dashed across the street to tell them that their house was on fire!
Panicked and scared, Emily, Emma, Andrew, baby Aiden, and their mom ran outside - taking nothing but the clothes on their backs - to find flames shooting out the attic window and smoke billowing out of the roof.
Right at that moment, the fire department arrived on scene and put out the fire.
The men in red quickly discovered that a crack in the chimney had caused embers to be released into the attic, which ignited the insulation and started the blaze that ended up destroying everything the young family owned in a matter of minutes.
Emily and Emma are my nieces, and on behalf of my family, we are all extremely grateful that their neighbor was around to spot the fire and help get them out safely!
Born to teenaged parents, it’s always taken a community of family and supporters to help keep these girls smiling and shining their love and light out into the world…
But we are hardly wealthy people - and now, we are struggling to help supply Emily and Emma with the clothing, bedding and other personal items they need to rebuild their home and their lives.
So today, I’m asking for your help.
