FIGHTING THE GOOD FIGHT TO RECOVER

Son Elton Naki Jr, 17yr old senior this year is a athlete of Castle High School on Oahu, Hawaii. He is a starting cornor on varsity football and starting point guard on his basketball team, he was all around great kid that always strived in everything he did. Well things changed so fast he was in the back of a truck when friend was driving reckless and had fallen out and hit his head, rushed to the emergency room and is now a kid that has TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury). Elton fought threw a 31 day coma and successfully came out. While in a coma he also had a stroke that doctors said he would never be able to use his leftside, as a family we new it wasnt true because the strong belief we have in God. Journey continued on with another month in half of learning the care of eltons trach and GTube he had to breathe and eat from. We then as parents was still lost of so many answers but still kept our faith. We were then told there was nothing else they could do for our son that basicly he will be bed ridden for the rest of his life, again as a family we said no thats not true. At that point i remained as a mom in the word of God and continued to pray for his guidance and direction. The day came for us to bring our son home still not satisfied with doctors answers. All though it broke my husband and children we never gave up. I continued to pray meditate on gods word and did multiple phone calls and research i posibly could find that would help my son. Still then i ran into roadblocks. Elton was then rushed to the emergency 3x in one week and on the third time of them wanting to discharge us and send him home i said no!!! I will not leave this hospital till you folks find me another solution to help my son. Suggested the doctors to call sons pediatric and transfer us to a PED Hospital that specializes in kids on island. Request was granted time was ticking every minute and second worth everything i had. Arriving at Kapiolani Hospital for women and children was the best thing that happend for our son. In a short period of time so many great things occured for him, his trach was removed he can now breathe from his upper airway and had a major surgery in 16 mustles from knees to ankles so he can walk again someday and continue to get rehabilitation from physical, occupational and speech therapy. Its been 6 months now since accident and we fight as a family to get elton every possible help he can get to be a normal kid again. As we work back to back with the doctors and staff of Kapiolani Hospital we still aint guaranteed they will be able to perform all functions for sons recovery. At this time we are trying to prepare in case this point in eltons journey we would need to travel outside of Oahu for the help that is needed. No matter what comes our way we know that this is all in Gods plan and purpose so nothing will stop us from achieving his victory. As a family we are asking for everyone's support in preparing ahead of time financially to be able to do what ever it will take in getting ELTON the best medical solutions for his success in a full recovery.
