Elsabeth Hudson Journey

Donation protected

My Precious Sister and brother in The Lord Robert and Mary Hudson were informed six weeks before her original due date that their daughter Elsabeth Hudson has an AVM as well as hole in her heart. Within 48 hours they have went from everyday life to having to send their other 5 children to stay in Oklahoma City with her mom and pack their bags to leave for Houston, Texas so that they can arrange a plan of delivery. I will post their personal story below. I am asking first and formost to pray fervently for the doctors, surgeons, staff and their family, I know that is all that they would ask for. However, I am asking if you are able and the Lord leads you to do please donate for the cost of staying in Houston for an unknown length of stay; time off work; medical bills, and their cost of living while there. Thank you for reading and for your prayers. May the Lord Bless you..
                                     From The Hudson's:
Brethren, thank you so much for your prayers. We saw the specialist this morning and have learned our baby has has an AVM in the center of the brain. It is about the size of a quarter.

This is where an artery feeds a vein directly by clinging together. It is also called a fistula. Usually you have capillaries in between a vein and an artery.

The baby's risk factors are arterial rupture (stroke) and/or a heart attack from the increased need the heart has to work. Also, ...a brain bleed would likely lead to fatal brain damage. She will need weekly monitoring to assess her condition. The fetal specialist has only seen one other case of this malformation during his 30 year practice.

We also learned the baby has a hole in her heart that is larger that what you typically see, 5mm I think. This can be a sign of Down's. We will get the blood test to rule out or confirm in about a week.

Due to the AVM, Mary will require a caesarian. The baby will require brain surgery of some type immediately after. If in state, OKC is where we need to deliver but we might need to go to Houston. This is a rare condition. Dr. Jones will present this case to a medical panel.

I must praise God for his wonderful providence here. We are thankful that it is not a crushing hydrocephalus. This an answer to prayer from Jehovah Rapha. We are also very thankful for the sharp eyes of our OB and that we now know what we are dealing with.

All that is needed is a word from Him or even a look and all will be well. And no matter what the outcome here - He is with us.

Thank you so much for the prayers this week. Mary and I truly covet your prayers during this time as we look to God and seek when and where and what to do...
