Ellie and Lila's Anniversary Trip

Donation protected
Ellie and Lila Quezada--our Dad and Mom--will mark their 35th anniversary this year, and we want to help them celebrate in a very special way!
(For booking purposes, we're shooting to reach our goal by April 30th.)

June 25, 1983

While we would love to throw a huge gala in their honor and have all of you join us to thank God for their life together, unfortunately, that’s not really possible. We the Quids are scattered across five countries on three continents and the coordination would be a nightmare! So, in lieu of a party, here is our proposal to you:

Let’s send Ellie and Lila on a SUMMER TRIP TO EUROPE!
Johanna and Tim's wedding in 2014

Dad and Mom have spent their entire marriage in ministry, and in all those 35 years they have only taken one short holiday by themselves, without at least a few kids. They have lived a very sacrificial life, but they're not exactly spring chickens anymore, and we would love for them to experience a real vacation together! We think that it’s important for them to go big for this milestone—as you know, Mom suffers from Parkinson’s and will not be capable of such a trip before too long.

We are so, so, so grateful for your faithful support to our family over the years. Through you, dear friends, God has enabled our parents to serve his kingdom in so many ways:
-  Serving in Sunday school, college youth group, and a crisis pregnancy center in British Columbia, Canada
-  Working with Wycliffe Bible Translators in Guatemala
-  Planting a Spanish-speaking church and Christian radio station and serving the immigrant community in Hood River Valley, Oregon
- Managing a Bible-recording studio, hosting a home church, leading retreats, opening the Casa Compasiva birth center, and running prison and youth ministries in Oaxaca, Mexico
- Raising and homeschooling eight noisy, ridiculous kids!
Stanley Park, Vancouver, BC, in 2012

None of this would have been possible without your faithful, faith-filled support, and with all our hearts we THANK YOU!

We are amazed at all that God has accomplished in these places, and we are so grateful for how he has used Ellie and Lila for his kingdom. Having typed out quite a few of their newsletters, I know that they will be the first to tell you that they are imperfect, sinful, and weak vessels. But as they boast in their weakness, God has  always shown himself strong and mighty to do what they could not. All praise and glory to God!

So, as Mom and Dad mark 35 grace-filled years of committed marriage and fruitful ministry, we ask you to help us collect a “love offering” to give them a gift of rest, relaxation, and seeing the sights of Europe (something they’ve never even considered doing before)! They have certainly stored up treasures in heaven, but how awesome would it be for them to get a real break and actually experience a different culture for once?  :-D
(While in Germany, they would also get the bonus of visiting their new grandbaby and his/her big brother!)

Please pray about giving towards this gift! We don’t presume upon your already-great generosity, but we are praying that God will give some of you the faith to give a little extra for a worthy cause! We do ask, though, that you not post this GoFundMe link on social media—please share it only via email.

One last thing:
even if you cannot give to this fund, please help to commemorate Ellie and Lila's special occasion by send me your notes of well-wishes and congratulations so that we can present them to them along with their gift!

Thank you for your consideration, for your friendship, and for your faithful support and prayers for our family! To God be the glory!

Love,
the Quezada Quids
