I was diagnosed with breast cancer November 9, 2017. December 7, 2017 was my first day of chemotherapy and I will have chemotherapy every Thursday for a year plus radiation and surgery and all of the medical tests that are part of the treatment of cancer. I will survive physically and mentally, financially is the hardest part of this whole diagnosis. I do work and have insurance but it is a high deductible insurance plan (the only plan choice) Annual 2017 deductible is $5,000.00 (which I never used until November 2017) and it resets January 1, 2018 another $5,000.00 I would appreciate any financial assistance you may bestow upon me, as I am a single working mother of three incredible children. I am working while going through this new journey of life as I can’t afford to have time off. I thank you very much for whatever you can help me with it is a true blessing from you (to my medical bills)

James 1:2-3 NIV - I volunteer and have throughout my life at church, school, work, organizations. This disease is just slowing me down for a short time; I am unable to volunteer at this time in my life.
I thought I would share what my Colleague shared on her Facebook page about me, I believe this will give you insight to who I am.
Forever Grateful Friday - A Sr. Admin Assistant I work with at a client, ALFPD, was diagnosed with cancer last month, the type of cancer that requires chemo every Thursday, for a year, with 6 hours of chemo one Thursday a month. It really sucks. She has only worked at ALFPD for 7 months. She has 3 children that she fostered then adopted all with special needs and they are the love of her life. She also fostered 3 additional children. Yesterday 18 firefighters from the shift that day walked into her office area, in single file, and surrounded her. (It was a sight to see!). She looks at them in shock with no idea of what was going to happen. The BC said to her that they all know she’s going thru a difficult time and they care. He said they usually get gifts for each other but all decided to give her a gift instead and he handed her an envelope. She is crying as he tells her this. Without opening the envelope she jumps up and asks if she can hug each one of them. She hugs each one; says thank you and Merry Christmas. As they are walking out she opens the envelope, bursts into tears again as she sees a check for over $1100. She screams Oh my goodness and runs after them to say thank you again. She then said to me “This will help tremendously with my Dr. bills. I can’t believe it. I’m so fortunate”. Fortunate? I’m thinking you, fortunate? You have cancer. You are struggling financially. I worked with you last week when you were so sick from the chemo but insisted on coming in to do payroll. You can’t afford to take much time off but have to for your treatments. Then I think of what just happened and I realize this is what Christmas is about. Firefighters who gave her a gift that she really needs. A workplace that allows her to be flexible with her schedule so she doesn’t lose time without pay. Doctors helping her to beat cancer. Christmas is about police officers taking kids to shop for gifts so they can have a Christmas. It’s about adopting a family for Christmas so they can open presents. It’s about giving in so many ways. It’s about loving family when it can be so hard. It’s about understanding that others are having a difficult time and reaching out. Thank you ALFPD for reminding me of this. I am grateful. ❤️
