Harvey Relief-Edson's & PelicanCove

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Tracy Edson and I live in Maine, but grew up in Texas.  My family is still in Texas and have been displaced by Hurricane Harvey.  I am reaching out for donations to help my family and their community, Pelican Cove rebuild their development.  They live in Aransas Pass, which is where the storm initially hit land as a category 4 hurricane.  The community is extremely fortunate to have their homes still standing, however with 130mph winds, the damage is still very devastating.  It hard to imagine, but the forces in this wind speed can carry debris through the smallest areas into homes bringing waste, sand, and fragments of docks, boats, trees and more.  As the heat rises and all these retired families await their turn for insurance inspectors, the mold and mildew is setting in fast.

This campaign was originally set up to create a Relief Registry so these residents can request the items needed to try and get back to some normalcy.  Though electricity will probably not get hooked back up for 2-4 weeks, this will give us time to get the money needed so we can buy sheets, towels, rugs, small appliances, pillows and much much more.  I will be posting what items have been purchased and how many families we will be able to support once we start receiving funds.   However, we are finding that certain repairs are not being covered by insurance or FEMA such as air conditioning units that are located in attics.  RThe donations will go directly to Pelican Cove Home Owners Association and will be used for this community given from the Edson family friends and family.

Residents are currently living in their homes as they wait for contractors and begin the rebuild process, however, this is extremely dangerous as mold is growing on walls, in floors, in air conditioning units, etc.  We need to get immediate assistance so health issues do not compound the ever growing problems during the long process of clean up and rebuilding.

We are thank you all for doing whatever you can, if we all work together, we can make Texas strong again!!

Thank you for taking the time and consideration to help all those families that are going through such difficult times.

I know there are several campaigns to donate to, I am working hard to get assistance to a small group of retired families in Pelican Cove.  They still don't have all resources restored, and the local stores such as Walmart and Lowes have been destroyed.
