New start for Ebola Hero

Donation protected
Help Ebola Grave Digger James Hamilton make a new start.

James Hamilton is a volunteer grave digger at Freetown's King Tom  Cemetry in Sierra Leone. During the Ebola outbreak James risked his life to serve his country burying hundreds of suspected Ebola deaths.

Please take a few minutes to watch this short film on James' story.

Two years on since the end of the Ebola outbreak and James continues to work at the cemetry making a small income digging and maintaining graves.

James suffers from PTSD however at the moment he has no other option than to continue working at the cemetry every day.

James' dream is to leave the cemetry and start a new life with his wife and young child away from the memories that haunt him. James wants to study Environmental Science but to do so he needs to complete a bridging course and save money to pay course fees.

James needs to raise 19 million Leones (around £2000) to purchase a ke ke (three wheel taxi) so that he can leave the cemetry and earn a daily income to support his family and pay his school fees.

100% of the money raised will go towards purchasing a ke ke and registration. Any addition funds will go towards school fees so that James can begin studying.

Donations can also be made through PayPal using this link:

James was awarded a medal of recognition from H.E. President Ernest B Koroma

UPDATE:
Thanks everyone for your support! We have reached our target and I will update again shortly after I meet with James.

I met James while working during the Ebola response and we have stayed in contact since.
