Get Easton to World Barefoot Center

Donation protected
Easton has always loved the water. A good portion of his life was spent in Huntington Beach, CA. If he wasn’t surf fishing, then he was on the boogie board or trying out his brother’s surfboard. He was always wet and always sandy. Since we have moved back to Utah it has been a little harder to get him to the water, but he never stops asking. About a year ago, I was telling him about how his uncles and I used to barefoot waterski. Curious about how barefooting works, he went to Youtube and the first videos he found were of Keith St. Onge “KSO” and David Small. He was hooked. There hasn’t been a day since where he isn’t watching more videos of the WBC, pausing it on occasion to draw a picture of the action, or practicing his moves with my old handle in the living room, his bedroom or tied to the tree out front. Last fall, he drew a picture of KSO barefooting and sent him a fan letter. He was on cloud nine, when a couple weeks later he received a letter back from KSO with an autographed photo.

Since we don’t have a boat, he hasn’t been able to get out there and really try it until last month. I “retro-fitted” my Father-in-law’s 125hp Bayliner with my brother’s old BI boom and took the family to the lake. I thought that when it actually came down to getting out there on the boom and cranking the boat to full speed, he might be a little wary. Nope, not scared at all. He went right out there, told me to “Hit it!” and he was footin’. He dreams of learning from the World Champs at World Barefoot Center, and maybe one day competing in the World Barefoot Championships.

He is working hard to save the money for a week at WBC, but at only 8 years old his earning options are limited. That’s why we have turned to GoFundMe. Anyone that donates $50 or more will receive custom artwork by Easton. See some examples below. The colored pencil sketch won him $100 in a local art contest that he used to buy his first “slightly used” barefoot suit. All funds received will go towards his week at WBC, travel, accomodations and the proper equipment.

I appreciate the time you have taken to read this and I’m sure Easton would appreciate your donation.  Please feel free to share.

Thank you.

One-foot.

Footin' at the lake.  Not sure if you can tell in the video or not, that "retro-fitting" meant running the boom through where the windshield should be. :)

One of his paintings.  He loves wildlife almost as much as footin'.

Practicing in the yard.  My wife loves cleaning the grass stains off the back of his shirts from his tumble turns.

The autographed photo from KSO.  Easton has always followed his dreams.
