Dog Camp Drops Anchor in Blue Hill, ME.

Creature Quarter's lease is up June 30, 2014, the wait is over, and the time has finally come to move the Dog Camp to a new permanent location.  Happily, the right property has been secured, the Town Permit was JUST approved on June 9th, the contractor's estimates are in, and it's time to begin the herculean effort of actually making the move to Blue Hill, Maine.  The new dog camp is located on the Blue Hill/Surry Road about, 10 miles from our existing location in Brooklin.

Creature Quarters is a unique and popular concept in Dog Boarding Care, serving the entire Blue Hill Peninsula, in mid-coast Maine.......and beyond; and caters to both year around local dogs, as well as summer visitors to the area. Carol Ann, and her two resident dogs, with their staff of human helpers, work year around to provide excellent day camp, and boarding services for dogs. Carol Ann lives on site, the Campers are never left unattended over night, and the Campers are cared for on a 24/7 basis.  Extra services of free transportation to and from Camp, Spa Days, field trips, trips to the Dog Park and baths are all part of the services we provide in addition to simply "boarding" dogs.

Moving Creature Quarters from an old farmhouse to a location that was built to be a boat storage building has its challenges, and there is lots to do in order to turn it into a safe place for the dogs to live, play and sleep.  The dogs will have free roam of the entire boathouse, with attached shed, but the large indoor area where the 35 foot boat was previously stored will be their primary indoor play and sleeping space.  Above that area, exists a loft which needs carpenter services to turn it in to a sleeping loft for Carol Ann.  Included in the boathuse/shed area are two more rooms, one which will be used for a kitchen/office, and a living area/dining area.  The outdoor play yard is accessed only through ONE door, which is located at the rear of the indoor playroom. The cost given for the fencing includes areas of privacy fence, and encloses only a small portion of the rear area.  The total cost to enclose the entire available outside space is closer to $6K, but we can certainly start small, and that will be something to work towards.  Any donations that exceed the above funding request will go towards enlarging the out door play space.

Thank you for any contributions that you can make, and don;t forget to order your tee shirt for any donation over $30.00.  If you are unable to help financially, but would still like to make a contribution to this project, no worries!!.....helping by sharing my "Go Fund Me" link, or simply volunteering to pack and/or transport boxes to Blue HIll would be a big help as well.
