Don's Emergency Fund

Don and Rosemary thank all who have donated to this fund to-date. The support has overwhelmed them.

To update all, a large growth was discovered in early summer which was a tumor that had grown through his skull but was  removed July18th. It was diagnosed as Large B-cell Lymphoma. Don will begin chemo-therapy August 8th for six months. His oncologist does not want him to work for at least the first rounds -- 7-8 weeks -- but to focus on his health. Don was ready to go back to work as soon as his stitches were out...Uh, Don, brain surgery! 70 years old!! His and Rosemary's income source is Social Security and Rosemary's PSA work of 12 hours/week. If they can find help with rent/utilities for the six months it would be most helpful iin order to hang on to their apartment. This would be a total of about $7500 for the six months. They are paring back, cutting back to just necessities, but rent and utilities pretty much stay the same.

Again, any amount you could help them out with, no matter how small is welcome, it all adds up. Your kindness will help them to maintain and, hopefully, to continue to avoid financial crisis.
