Greetings in love and kindness Family, Community and Friends of Dr. Winston Kokayi Kari Patterson
An unfortunate turn of events has left Baba Kokayi homeless or without a home to call his own. Because of a major electrical fire in the apartment building where he is now living it has been rendered as uninhabitable. The major electrical fire happen in October, 2013 the tenants have been living in their homes without electricity for weeks. The landlord assured that the problem would be fix within days that has not happen. Weeks have gone by and now the owners are not able to repair the wiring or electrical problem in the buildings. They informed the tenants that they would assist with finding a new home and payment to assist with the relocation expenses. It's been over a month and it appears that that is not going to happen in a timely manner if at all.

In the mean time Baba Kokayi Patterson has been staying with friends, family and in a hotel we thank God for the blessings from friends and family that Dr. Kokayi and his family has a place to sleep during the night.

Dr. Kokayi had a home basic business center where he provided training and services to the community. Currently the home basic business was Dr. Kokayi main source of income so without a home Dr. Kokayi is unable to provide training, counseling, treatments, and services to our community and earn a living.
Each day that he is unable to work his income is zero for that day and what seems to be a quick adjustable situation turns in to a major problem and now you have the domino effect and bills don't get paid and now your debt has expanded.

This is the situation that Baba Dr. Kokayi is in now and we would like your assistance with creating a balance in Dr. Kokayi's life right now to shift the energy and raise the funds so that he can secure a decedent home to live in and reopen his healing and learning center and regain financial stability from all debts incurred during this time of adjustment.

I am Dr. Karen Khadijah Davis-Foulks and I am assisting Dr. Kokayi in any area that I can doing his time of need. However not even me nor did Dr. Kokayi consider asking the community for support. It wasn't until Elizabeth decolonized Thundercould found out about the situation and asked Dr. Kokayi what did him need right now and Dr. Kokayi told her about 2,200.00 to move. So, she posted on face book what Dr. Kokayi was experiencing and what support he needed right now.

When I saw the post I thought why I didn't I think to ask the community for assistance like this sister is doing. I have been supporting Dr. Kokayi for over three weeks while he waits for the landlord to make good on his solution.

I call Dr. Kokayi told him I honored his vulnerability and sharing with the community what his needs are now. I shared with him that I don't know why I didn't think to go to the community the village and share the need.

He said Doc because we are warriors and did not stop to consider it as an option when this is what we do when asked. So, I ask him if I could create a champion so that everyone who knows him and his work will know of his needs now. He said yes why not the truth has been spoken and I could benefit from a little financial love offering Sis I am thankful and humble to you and Sister Thundercould.

Prior to his becoming an Acupuncture Specialist in Detox in 1979 Kokayi Patterson was a Drug Counselor and Program Manger/Director specializing in Residential Treatment, Community Outreach, Youth Counseling for 35 years, where he first witnessed acupuncture being used in 1970 at a local Drug Center. He lectured extensively throughout the local community in D.C., Md. Va, and nationally in Ga, NYC, Penn., and Ohio, and other major cities. He headed both staff orientation and training and client orientation for 15 years. He assisted in the development of a Wholistic Approach to Residential Treatment, which included exercise, meditation, quality water, partial vegetarian diet, herbs, vitamins, AcuDetox, massage etc.

It was from his experience in this field that he continued the practice of Chinese Acupuncture for Addictions: that in addition to treatment processes Acudetox is a empowering addition to any treatment regime.

He's been a trainer for future CAC's(Certified Addictions Counselor) with TACS Inc. who has trained over 400 CAC's in the D.C. area and is the only Program that offers classes in Wholistic Approach to Treatment.
This gives the average counselor a Wholistic Perspective and approach to treating their clients. Kokayi also holds a appointed seat on the Citywide HIV/AIDS Planning Committee Throughout his Wholistic Health and Acudetox career Kokayi has developed and taught a variety of basic Wholistic concepts through courses and seminars throughout the community and to adults and youth in Secondary, Middle, High Schools and colleges, and at the beginning of each class students are taught area's to massage for calming and focus before class work begins He finds these concepts complement the success his students, patients and there experience understanding the human body from a Wholistic view.

Kokayi has consistently promoted Acupuncture and Wholistic health in the city, specifically the sections smothered with drugs and alcohol, HIV/AIDS and overall poor health. Kokayi works with other ADS and health practitioners to bring acupuncture and wellness services to inner city communities, As a Certified National Acupuncture Detoxification Association (NADA) Registered Trainer he teaches the NADA Acudetox protocol to acupuncturists and non-acupuncturist locally and across the country.
