Two broken legs, abandoned by owner
Don protégé
Diamond suffered two broken back legs after being hit by a car on Friday 8/18. The driver slowed down to see what he hit, but he did not stop. The dog laid on the side of the road unable to move. A group of young men hovered over her, discussing what to do. A cat rescue person saw the scene unfold and offered a ride to the vet. She took the owner and the dog to Village West Vet where Dr. Bruce Silverman told the owner that his dog would need x-rays. Dr. Bruce provided the owner with a cost estimate of $400. The owner walked out the door and never came back or even called to see how Diamond was doing.
Diamond now has several good samaritans helping her. She was taken to another vet for surgery. Her legs have now been set and she’s doing very well. She will hopefully be accepted by a foster person and rescue organization soon.
The cost for the initial vet appointment was $469.30 and the cost for the leg surgery is estimated to be approximately $1200. I’m rounding up to a goal of $2000 to cover Go Fund Me fees, her fostering costs, and her subsequent checkups.
Thank you for any support you can give to this sweet little girl!
