Desmond Shelburn College Fund
After the unexpected death of his father, Tyce Shelburn, many family and friends reached out wanting to offer support to 10 year old, Desmond Shelburn and his mom, Milena. While Milena is eternally grateful for all of the help and encouragement during this time, her main priority remains steadfast on Desmond and ensuring the possibilities for his future. Honoring her wishes, the family put together a College Fund for Desmond. In an attempt to look ahead to the future, we take this time to focus on Tyce’s legacy and honor his son. We rally around Milena and Des offering comfort and warm hugs.
For those of us who knew Tyce, he made each and every one of us laugh and smile at every visit. Likewise, it only took one conversation with him to realize “wow that is one smart goofball.”
Above all, Tyce was so many things to his young son. He was an amazing, proud, and involved father. He spent time with Des doing homework, tinkering with science kits, looking up facts on the internet, and so much more. He valued education but more importantly the learning process and acquiring knowledge. He was eager to learn and always passed that knowledge on to his son.
As we continue to pay our respects and honor his son, any family or friends who wish to contribute any amount to this college fund are encouraged to do so.
**While we set the goal at nominal amount (in comparison to the cost of a college education), we will continue to shoot for the stars contributing to Des' bright future.
