Help Homeless Advocate Fight Cancer

Donation protected
Dennis is a truly remarkable man and radiates a joy that is inexplicable—even amongst this most difficult situation he is facing with his health today.

In May of 2017, following a routine colonoscopy—doctors discovered a very large, Stage 4 Cancerous tumor. Dennis was informed by his doctors that unless the tumor was removed that same day—he would likely be dead within a week. Doctors immediately went to work to remove the tumor—which was success—however it was discovered in the process that the cancer had spread to his liver. Even with pursuing aggressive treatment doctors told him he may not have long to live.

Dennis began chemotherapy immediately, and over the next several months he underwent 24 rounds of chemotherapy. Even during these treatments, Dennis continued to work full-time to maintain his income and continue to provide for his family. Miraculously—Dennis continues to be a top-performer amongst a team of over
40 people.

In the these last 12 months, Dennis has been a tireless advocate on behalf of those struggling on the streets without a home and families needing the help of food banks to keep food on the table. Even amongst these health circumstances, in the last 12 months Dennis has raised over $250,000 for homeless shelters and food banks around the country to help care for these people in desperate situations.

Dennis wrote this that he would like to share with all of you who are reading this: “I was truly born again and entered into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ about 10 years ago. Since that time I know that God has directed and guided me to this place at this time for a reason. I believe that I am called to help and continue to serve other people who are less fortunate for as long as possible—according to God’s purpose for me.”

"As sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, yet possessing everything." 2 Corinthians 6:10

The Need

This week Dennis will be starting a rigorous radioactive therapy that will require he maintain a distance of 4 feet from anyone for the duration of this treatment—even his wife. The radiation released by his body during this time could put those around him at great risk of exposure. He is unable to continue working during this treatment, and in order to survive financially during this time, he could really use help financially.

There are 3 things we're hoping you can take part in:

1)   Financial gift via this GoFundMe—any amount you can gift would of great help to Dennis and his family.

2)    Share this page and help spread his story to others via Facebook, Email, or simply word of mouth with those who may be able to take a look at his story and help financially or with prayer.

The link is very simple: GoFundMe.com/DennisP

3)   Prayer for strength, courage, and hope for Dennis and his family—as well as wisdom and motivation for the doctors to do their best in their role in this intense treatment and his recovery.
