Get Debbie Back on Her Feet

UPDATE: We would like to thank EVERYONE for their outpouring of love and support. Debbie officially won her battle with the infection today and was able to pay off all her medical bills, allowing her to focus on getting back to normal at work and on the farm.
For years Debbie Waugh has been dedicated to helping and teaching countless young farmers, students, family members, and friends. Now she needs our help.
The week before Thanksgiving 2017, Debbie entered the hospital with stomach issues as well as excruciating back pain. Over the next three weeks, she was diagnosed with salmonella and discitis and had to have surgery drain an infectious abscess on her back.
We thought when we picked her up from the hospital on December 3rd, that we would just be giving her antibiotics for a few weeks and getting her back on her feet and back to her beloved Salamander Springs.
Unfortunately, this past week, just before Christmas, she suffered a large setback. Her pain began to increase rapidly and her mobility decreased. We went back to the hospital on December 22 and learned that the antibiotics were not working and the infection had spread to the bone in her spine.
We are currently awaiting a surgery that will replace part of her spine, but Debbie is looking at a long, rough recovery and we are not sure how long she will be able to remain employed and when she has recovered she will be looking at substantial medical bills, even with her insurance.
We (her children and children-in-laws) are doing and will continue doing everything we can to get her back on her feet, including a home to recover in, but she will need assistance for the foreseeable future.
All donations will go straight to Debbie's copays and medical bills. We will also do our best to make sure Salamander Springs continues to thrive, but our top priority is getting Debbie strong and healthy.
Any amount you can spare will help tremendously and we will continue to give updates on her health.
