Hi I'm Debbie,
I was diagnosed in 1981 with Multiple Sclerosis. I lived a somewhat normal life until 1998 when everything changed. I suddenly lost the use of my right side, and never regained it. I am now a quadriplegic. Instead of feeling sorry for myself, I think of different ways to accomplish the same tasks. So, please don't feel sorry for me.
I'm asking for help because in the past 3yrs I have struggled both emotionally and financially with my mother's death on August 2012, my hospital stay January-May 2014, my dad's death on April 2014, and my cat's illness and death in May 2015. I receive social security disability benefits, which devastates me because I'm unable to work and support myself. I cannot survive with the debt that I've incurred over the past 3yrs. So, with this being said, I have to swallow my pride and ask for help.
Part of the contributions that I receive will help me to afford a Tempur-Pedic mattress and base which is currently financially out of reach for me. Because I am bed ridden 90% of the time, I frequently experience bed sores which are both painful and dangerous for my health. A tempur-pedic mattress would reduce the risk of bed sores and would also work wonders in reducing my overall body pain.
Any contribution would be greatly appreciated and go toward the mattress and base mentioned above, medical bills, veterinary bills, groceries, and running my generator during an emergency. A generator is essential during power outages for my Lifeline, telephone, refrigerator, hospital bed, air conditioner (to keep me from overheating in the summer months), and heat in the winter months (which also keeps my muscles from contracting from the MS and Fibromyalgia).
