My Name is Summer. 24 years old and a mother of a 2 year son.
In 2014 I dropped to the lowest and unhealhiest point in my life. I made the decision to completely change my life and go on a extreme weightloss/ health journey. over the course of 15 months I put every ounce of will power, change and literal sweat that I had in me resulting in loosing over 200lbs.
I have been obese as long as I could remember. I was almost 200lbs before I turned 7. I was starting the 9th grade weighing 360lbs, which I would push to 400lbs by the next year. My health so was poor. I aqquired Diabities & high blood pressure by age 16. I pretended not to care and tried to keep up with my peers, live life and "be normal", but I was dying inside. Extreme depression and anxiety set in soon after. It took years of bullying, being treated so differently from others, constant body pain and a very devastating visit to the hospital at the age of 20, to finally realize I needed to make a dramatic life change. I so badly wanted to see a positive change in my life and live longer. I'd had it!!! I was finally ready and I wasn't giving up this time.
I began by changing my diet. I ate very clean and soon after became a vegetarian, I then began working out like crazy. Intense cardio and weight training. It seemed for the first few months, I wasn't noticing results but I didn't get discouraged. I continued to push and all at once I started dropping weight like crazy. 5 lbs here, 10 lbs there and everyone was beginning to notice.
I continued on with my health and weightloss journey. My gym even noticed and posted my progress in the facility. Now today, I weigh 198lb with my BMI at an all time low, I continue to work hard in the gym and maintain a healthy diet and my support system at home is amazing.
Doctors have now ruled me very healthy & many are stunned by how I've taken my health into my own hands. Diabeties has totally disappeared and my blood pressure at great numbers, along with all other tests. ---
The only problem I am left with is a large amount of excess skin (in my stomach especially ) and because my skin was stretched out for so long, there is barely any collagen or elastin left in it. I continue to incorporate body toning exercises into my routine but have been told I will need Excess skin removal surgery.
While saving as much as I possibly can towards my cause, I am still very far away from reaching the dollar goal. I am asking each and every one of you to help me in the next step of my journey. Any contributions of any amount will help so much and is beyond appriciated.
I thank you all for you support. I will continue to keep everyone updated. ❤️
