David Gwaltney’s Fight With Cancer

David Gwaltney - husband to Maurie, father to Katherine and Hunter, grandfather to Blakely, Mya, and Oliver, friend to many, and faithful Christian - was unexpectedly diagnosed with stage 4 throat cancer (specifically tonsil cancer, metastasized to his lymph nodes) in early April. Since then, he and his wife’s lives have been put on hold while he attempts to fight this aggressive disease. He has been out of work to attend two radiation and two chemo treatments per week while his wife has taken a leave of absence from her job at the high school to take him back and forth to his appointments and care for him all hours of the day. She is using her sick and vacation time right now, but that will likely run out before he’s done fighting. This small town of Colonial Heights has always been known to pull together as a community to support eachother. Hearing David’s updates from my dad, one of his best friends, has pulled at my heartstrings and driven me to take action to do something for them. So please join me in supporting them in any way we can... whether it be a small donation to assist in their financial burden or simply sending them prayers for recovery.
