David Holliday's medical expenses

Everyone in the greater Lebanon, KY area will recognize David Holliday and his seeing eye dog, Major, from their daily walks around town.  David is totally blind and depends upon his memory of Lebanon's streets from long walks he took 20 years ago when he still had a little sight, and his trusty seeing dog, Major.  You may also recognize his wife Mary, who worked at Five Star until a couple of months ago when she was diagnosed with Stage 4 Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma.  Mary is currently undergoing chemotherapy and is unable to work.  As if they needed any more bad luck, on Valentine's day, David was assaulted during his walk on West Main Street by two miscreants, one of whom punched him full in the face, knocking him unconscious and badly breaking his nose before fleeing the scene.   Several good smaratians came to his aid and got Major home;  got Mary to the scene: got David to the Emergency Room; and directed the police to the offender who was arrested.  David's nose is so badly broken that they could not re-set it yesterday as scheduled and he has to undergo surgery on Friday, February 23 to correct the damage to his face.  David's health insurance is insufficient to cover his medical expenses and the offenders lack the means to be held financially accountable.   Mary's insurance from Five Star expired at the end of a 16 week Leave of Absence she had to take to undergo treatments.  So, these two "fixtures of the community" really need our help right now.  Please do a good thing today ... contribute whatever you can to David & Mary's medical bills and at least relieve them of that added burden.  All proceeds from this account will be paid directly into an account that only David & Mary can access.  Thank you for caring!  Thank you for donating!
