Dasch Quartet - Necessary Edges

Why we are fundraising

Dasch
has recorded our debut album, which is nearly ready to be sent to be manufactured, but we need any support we can to get our music out into the public!

Any donations we receive will help us in the mounting costs of travel, so that we can rehearse, and perform together. They will also help us complete our current projects, which include: CD promotion, and performances throughout the US, and hopefully the UK too; performance at the World Saxophone Congress in Strasbourg, France this coming summer; participation in and travle to competitions, and continued collaborations with composers to create new music for our quartet. We are lucky with the support we have received from grant awarding bodies, but we still need all the extra support we can find!

You can donate any amount you feel you can offer, or select one of the rewards listed.

About Dasch

Described by Classical Voice of North Carolina as "breathtaking," "effervescent" and "relentless", Dasch has quickly built up an enviable reputation as one of the most exciting emerging saxophone quartets in the USA. Their recent win at the North American Saxophone Alliance National Quartet Competition, and selection to compete in the Astral Artists competition has raised their profile throughout the country, and their busy performance schedule throughout North Carolina has allowed them to cultivate an ever-growing base of supporters. Comfortable in both traditional and more contemporary settings, the group prides itself on its versatility.

About the CD

Necessary Edges was recording in June 2014, at Ovation Sounds in Winston-Salem, NC with Taimur Sullivan as producer. The CD features transcriptions of major Romantic string quartets, including Dvořák's "American" Quartet, Smetana's String Quartet in E minor, "From My Life" and Puccini's "Crisantemi". While Dvořák's work is well-known to the saxophone community, the others are new to the world of saxophone quartets. This is the first time a saxophone quartet has recorded Smetana's quartet in E minor. Editing has nearly been completed now, and we are very close to being able to send our completed recordings to manufacturers - the final stage before we can officially release the recordings.
