Meredith College: Junior Year

Donation protected
I am a junior this year at Meredith College. I am a Psychology and Spanish double major with a minor in Religion. My transcript is all As and Bs and I've been on the Dean's List every semester with a 3.7 GPA. I plan to go straight to grad school when I graduate in order to get my Master's in Counseling. I want to help at risk women and maybe work at a shelter as a counselor for drug addicts, teen moms, homeless women, and victims of abuse or trafficking. I've had such a great experience in Counseling that I feel if people gave these women the help they need and a chance to succeed, it could really change their lives.
I have been really involved with a Christian group on campus, called Meredith Christian Association and am going to be the President this year. I'm so excited to see how God is going to use me and the other ladies in the group this year! I also got a job as an RA (Resident Assistant) on a freshman hall this year. This is my first year as an RA so I'm really nervous but still pretty excited about the whole thing. My other on campus job is as a Student Worker in the Office of the Chaplain. Also, at Meredith, all the junior girls get paired with freshman girls as Big Sis and Lil Sis. So this year I'm gonna be a Big, which is of course really exciting! I already have two Littles and I can't wait to get to know them this year.
So, as you can tell, I'm really excited about this year. Haha. Everything has been working out so well. When I first got admitted to Meredith I had no idea how we would afford it. Fortunately, God has always made a way with a combination of scholarships and loans. This year, even with all my financial aid and scholarships, I still owed about $17,000. My parents are currently in the process of filing for bankruptcy and we have tried to apply for loans with everyone in my family and they've all been denied.
When we realized getting a loan wasn't going to work out I appealed for more federal financial aid and more financial assistance from my school. They accepted my appeal so now instead of needing $17,000 I only need about $4,000. They said that with the appeal they gave me all the extra financial assistance possible, so it's up to me to find out how to pay the last $4,000. While worrying about how to afford this year at Meredith I haven't even been able to think about buying textbooks so that's what the extra $500 is for. I would be devastated after already starting the year (as an RA, in my classes, as president of MCA, as a Big Sis) to have to drop out because I couldn't find the last $4,500 after coming this far. I fell in love with Meredith College. It feels like home and I can't imagine having to leave, but if we don't pay soon I could get kicked out. I would appreciate any help you could offer to help me be able to stay this year. Every little bit counts. Thank you and God bless.
