Cure Majesta's Cervical Cancer

Donation protected
Majesta Allen, my friend of 37 years, was recently diagnosed with cervical cancer.   (Specifically, invasive adenocarcinoma.)  This diagnosis is shocking, overwhelming, and scary for anyone; but even more so because it's the same cancer that took Majesta's mother about ten years ago.  At that time, she stepped in to care for her mom and even bought her parents home to help alleviate their financial burdens from cancer treatments.  It's just what Majesta has done her entire life-- helping others in their time of need.
Now here she is ten years later in the fight of her life.  She's a work horse, she's a fighter, she's a survivor... always has been, always will be.  With the results of her PET scan, her prognosis is good and a complete cure is the goal.  But she has a tough battle beginning in one to two weeks with a combination of external radiation, internal radiation and chemotherapy (cisplastin) five days a week for the next 49-56 days. This treatment must be completed within a maximum of 56 days for the best success.

As if cancer and its treatment aren't complicated enough, Majesta's situation is a little more dire than "just cancer".  She is self employed (home repairs and painting), has no medical insurance and is the sole income provider as she is not married.  The fantastic doctors and staff at Henrico Hospital are still working to find a program to help cover the cost of her treatment.

She is frantically working and will do so up until treatment prevents it.  She is an incredibly hard working person!  Having said that, she has been told to expect to lose her appetite, sense of taste and smell within the first week.  The treatment period is fairly short but intense and extreme fatigue should be expected very quickly.  This campaign money will be used to cover her minimum living expenses. (Mortgage, utilities, auto insurance, phone, prescriptions and a small amount for any food that she can tolerate.)  If we can reach our goal, it will cover expenses for the two months of treatment and one month to recover her strength to go back to work in such a physically demanding field.
Time is of the essence because as of right now, the goal is to begin treatment in one to two weeks...as soon as the approval is given for the coverage of treatment.  She needs this treatment to survive, but she also is terribly stressed about losing her modest home that has been in her family for years.   I'm hoping and praying, as a community, we can relieve that stress so Majesta can concentrate her focus on her treatment.
She has always had such a generous heart and helped so, so many people in their time of need, myself included.  If you can help her in her time of need, she would be immensely grateful.  And as a long time friend, I can assure you, she will pay it forward when she is capable...she always has, always will.  :-)  Thanks so very much!
(I will provide updates here on her treatment progress.)
