The film is the story of a woman who is tired of getting scammed from car repair shops and decides to fight back. It is an original script and is inspired by true stories. A drama with some comedy elements, yet reflecting on the serious difficult times on some of the characters. The project has a working title but will not be revealed until the script is complete [sometime in January].
This campaign is to help fund this project. It will go to the hiring of a stellar cast and crew, the administration, fees/permits, and the distribution and marketing of the project. It will be primarily be shot in Buffalo, NY with other locations possibly in NYC and Philly, PA.
We plan to begin principal shooting in March 2017, depending on how our fundraising goes. The goal is to complete filming in a month and begin post-production immediately and have trailers ready for film festivals in the Summer and Fall of 2017.
Shawn Patrick Greene, a Gulf War Veteran, has been a professional videographer and photographer since 1997. He has also worked in radio as an on-air talent, producer and board operator since 1998. Though working in retail for most of his career, the majority of his secondary jobs have been in media and entertainment.
In 2009, Shawn started his acting career as a film extra in NYC, and later was cast in speaking roles. Recently has been on tour in a stage production as a lead actor. He also was a producer on several projects. This film is the very first feature film written and directed by Shawn.
This has been a story in development for over a year. It has been a childhood dream to produce a feature film one could be proud of. If this project works, we will be able to fund our other projects on our own.
This campaign would be our initial seed money to jump start the careers of our local Buffalo talent and continue to offer better opportunities to these great people. It means more to me than just a job well done and a name for myself. It's a much better feeling to share the success and experience with others.
