Conor Peck's Journey

Donation protected
Conor Peck (17) is a senior at Widefield High School in Colorado Springs, CO. He was a dedicated student-athlete who had a dream to serve our country and enlist with the United States Marine Corps.

Conor woke up on September 28th thinking of NJROTC and how many days are left until he leaves for basic. He packs his lunch, just like every morning, gives his mom a hug as she says "I love you, have a great day and drive safe" it is a typical school day for this senior.

Their lives changed in an instant - the phone rang displaying an unfamiliar number and the stranger on the other end asking if this is Conor's mom and was told he was in an accident. Conor had rolled his truck trying to avoid hitting an antelope after removing his seatbelt to reach for a beverage.

Conor’s injuries are severe. His spinal cord is severely injured and his back is broke at T-5. At first the prognosis was not hopeful, but those doctors didn’t know Conor.

Conor has been in rehab for four weeks – the medical professionals are wowed and amazed with Conor’s attitude, strength, wit and his charm. Conor is committed to healing, and learning to live this new life. He demonstrates the finest qualities of a Marine recruit in this new challenge just as he did in NJROTC. Conor knows he has to set new goals and he is using those skills to build a new dream.

This life altering event has left his parents, Victor (btw....the best  step-dad we could have prayed for for Danielle, Alexis, and Conor and we know he loves them as his own and he is an amazing husband to Lori) and Lori are now faced with adapting their home for Conor's new needs of using a wheelchair for mobility with that comes many changes that are needed to his home; accessible bathrooms, widening of doorways, and entryways, and an emergency exit. Conor will also need a vehicle that can handle the rough Colorado winters on the plains with adapted hand controls.

During his rehab stay, Conor had an opportunity to test an action tracker that would give Conor access to the life Conor had prior to the accident. Conor is an avid outdoorsman enjoying camping with his family, hunting, and working around his rural Colorado home.

This “Go Fund Me” will assist Conor's parents in accessing technologies that will permit Conor to continue to live the life of a high school senior and provide access to whatever possibilities life can offer.

Thank you!
