Combating the opioid crisis...

Tax deductible
From 1999 to 2016 more than 12,000 North Carolinians died from opioid-related overdoses.
In the past 12 months, we have provided referrals to treatment for 8,985 North Carolinians

Families all over our great state are being impacted by substance use disorders. Too many parents are faced with the burial of their children due to substance-related death. Today, many North Carolina citizens seeking help with a substance use disorder simply do not know where to turn to for assistance. The Alcohol Drug Council of North Carolina (ADCNC) is an important solution to this issue, as our agency helps thousands of people get connected to services and recovery supports throughout the state.
Our agency is dedicated to helping people find their pathway to long-term recovery. ADCNC is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit that embraces and respects all pathways to recovery, since an individual’s recovery journey is as unique as the human fingerprint. Our staff are working hard on the front lines of this epidemic, but we need your help to continue the fight. Every financial contribution that you make goes towards saving a human life, helping someone find help for their substance use disorder and providing vital recovery supports for people in long-term recovery. We believe that every North Carolina citizen is worth the effort, and we hope that you do too. Because of you, people no longer must die unnecessarily. Please join us in the fight.

Our Information & Referral Hotline is available 24 hours per day and 365 days per year. Many of our trained call responders are also in long-term recovery and are skilled at helping people navigate the service delivery system in our state. Our Perinatal Specialist Program is dedicated to helping pregnant women and/or women with young children get connected to the services that help them find and maintain long-term recovery, allowing these women to be the mothers that their children need.

Our agency is also proud to operate an Assessment and Brief Intervention Program for the NC National Guard. Our community based resource center (Sunrise Recovery Resource Center) is located in Durham, NC. At Sunrise, individuals in recovery gather in a safe and stable environment in which they are able to build skills that help them lead full and productive lives. We host daily recovery support groups, computer skills training, resume support, interview preparation, job searching solutions, housing assistance, linking to other community resources, clothing (in partnership with Dress for Success) and food (in partnership with Inter-Faith Food Shuttle via the Geer Street Learning Garden Project).

There are many success stories of people who have overcome substance use disorder and are now living full, productive and impactful lives. Our agency needs your help to make sure that these success stories increase in number. Your contributions will help ADCNC to expand our capcity to help more people who are struggling with substance use disorders. Please give freely. Thank you in advance for your generosity, as you partner with us to help North Carolinians overcome the challenges of substance use disorders.
