In memory of sweet Katie Christian, please contribute to a college fund for her 2 year old daughter, Clementine. Katie's time on this Earth may have ended, but her legacy lives on. Let's bloom!
Katie became a bloom almost as soon as there was a bloom and she wasn't just a client, she was a friend. I admired Katie for so many reasons. She was a loving, honest, and caring woman who would remember every detail of a conversation and give you a call, to check on you, for no reason. We shared hours of conversation about becoming a mother - something Katie was determined to be. She shared so much about her journey with me, at a time, when I was unsure about mine. I vividly remember standing on a stoop in NYC, assuring her that her baby was an Angel and was seeking a way to her mama in this world. In encouraging Katie, I found my own confidence and I will be forever grateful for that. I loved the way she always saw the positive, in every situation, big and small. We could talk about anything, from Harry Potter to the Craft Maphia, business networking to breast feeding, craft blogs and Muddy's cupcakes, financial planning, live music, Memphis, purl soho and Portland. Cancer may have taken Katie's body, but it can never, ever take away her spirit. She inspired a whole army of people to fortify her and she fought hard to stay. I will never forget her, for touching my life. In my memory, she will always be in full bloom.
