Courage for Cole

As you all know, this past weekend Cole Gramlow, a 6th grader entering Twin Oaks Middle School this fall,  was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. While his parents, Kelly and Chad, await the results of his bone marrow biopsies and spinal tap, and Cole begins treatment, they will be dividing their time between their home in Prior Lake and Children's Hospital in Minneapolis. I've created this GoFundMe to offset the increased expenses of transportation, parking, and food and any immediate financial needs that may arise. Our immediate goal is $1000 and we will revisit this over the next several weeks and months of Cole's treatment as more needs arise.

UPDATE: Today, Cole and his family were able to get a clearer picture of what his treatment plan would entail. Unfortunately, due to the aggressiveness of the treatment plan, Cole will be required to remain at Children's Hospital for the next 4-6 months with only sporadic and short-term visits home.  The specifics of his diagnosis and treatment plan can be found on Cole's Caring Bridge site. The family is, rightfully, devastated. 

We are humbly asking that you consider a donation to help offset the financial burden of caring for Cole. The next six months will require several round trips to downtown Minneapolis from Prior Lake in addition to parking, meals, medical costs, co-pays, resources so that Cole can receive his education remotely, and possibly resources to help with domestic tasks so that Chad and Kelly can focus on their family of seven. Kelly will also need to leave her position at Five Hawks Elementary in order to care for Cole leaving them with one income.

Cole remains in good spirits despite his disappointment in being unable to go home for more than a few days, attend school with his friends, or play hockey in the upcoming Laker hockey season. All things considered, he is an amazing kid with a fighting spirit. Let's show him and his family that they are surrounded by love, hope and support while they fight for Cole's recovery.
