A Memorial Gift for Coen Johnston

Donation protected
On June 13th baby Coen came into this world by emergency c-section at St. Paul's Hospital in Vancouver. Shortly afterward, Rachel and he were transferred to BC Women's Hospital. Tragically, Coen suffered a brain hemorrhage and he passed away surrounded by love at Canuck Place on June 27th.  Despite having been with us for much too short a time, he has had a profound impact on everyone who met him. The name Coen means brave and he demonstrated bravery at every turn. He shocked doctors, nurses and us with his resilience and strength to fight through many challenges. As a family, we'd like to thank the incredible team at BC Women’s NICU and the staff at Canuck Place for their loving support during this difficult time. In addition to the incredible compassion we saw demonstrated, we were amazed at the medical resources and the way that both BC Women's and Canuck Place accommodated our physical and emotional needs as a large family. As a legacy to our sweet angel, we are creating this opportunity for family and friends to contribute. Funds raised will be allocated by Matt and Rachel to the new NICU at BC Women's Hospital and Canuck Place Children's Hospice in the way they think best honours their son's memory.
