Burkina Faso Mission - Vinings Church

Greetings,
As many of you know, Amey and I have been growing in our faith over the last couple of years in large part through our commitment to Vinings Church. Our mission is to help connect people to their role in the story of God through Jesus Christ. Our strategy to accomplish this mission is to be a church body unleashing generosity in the surrounding communities as well as abroad. In addition to connecting with people in the Smyrna/Vinings community we have a compassionate heart for the people of the Bwamu tribe just outside of the capital city of Ouagdougou, Burkina Faso. We have learned that clean water and shoes are two huge needs that many communities in Burkina Faso desperately need. Additionally, this community needs what God has intended for us all, solid authentic relationships with other believers. Our mission strategy is to spend several years with this tribe to develop solid relationships that build trust and ultimately create an opportunity for the people to come to know Christ’s love for them.
The first of many trips for our church will occur in September to facilitate our mission strategy. The planning efforts are underway and we have already generated a small team for this particular trip to support the Bwamu tribe in Burkina Faso, Africa. I am very fortunate and excited to have this opportunity and I am in need of your support. Before I provide you with all the support needs I want to give you some background as to why I am feeling led to be a member of this team.
My faith journey is one that had no real direction until about seven years ago. It was then that I realized being a “real” man was all about learning the ways of Jesus and then modeling those ways as a husband and a father. I am proud to say that life at home is wonderful in so many ways. This leadership quality that has been occurring at home is a huge reason I am feeling led to join this mission team. I believe I have some life experiences and a personal testimony that should be shared with the people of the Bwamu tribe.
Our mission team support needs are as follows:
1. God recieves all the glory from our efforts
2. God would prepare the hearts of those that we would meet and draw them closer to God.
3. The men of our team will have compassionate hearts that lead toward leadership growth for the Bwamu tribe
4. All finanacial needs will be met to accomplish the mission. That each member of the team will recieve $3,000. That more filters will be donated for the Bwamu community.
5. Logistical support for getting shoes to the Bwamu trip
6. Logistical support and financing for purchase of buckets once in Burkina Faso
