Charles Baumann died Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014, unexpectedly but peacefully in his sleep from an undetected heart condition. Charlie was born in Bogota, Colombia to Werner and Isabel Baumann on June 13, 1950.
Charlie married Linda in Chicago on July 18, 1979 and then moved to Eureka, California where he began his career with Safeway Stores in 1981. When he moved to Missoula in 1993, he worked at the Safeway on Broadway, then Brooks and now on Reserve. A dedicated, hard working man, he also worked part-time at Beach Transportation for the last five years.
Charlie was an avid Chicago Bears fan, enjoyed traveling, rock and roll and relaxing in the sun on a warm summer day. Most of all, he cherished the time spent with family and was always there to guide, support and make life joyful with his unique sense of humor. He was a devoted friend and an honest man that you could always count on to speak the truth.
Charlie leaves behind his wife, their children Becky, Kevin, Brian, Christopher and Megan and their families, both his parents, his siblings Walt, Isabel, Mariann and Ida and their families, brother-in-law, Rick, nephew Kyle, "adopted" daughters, Silvyna and Jennifer, his grandchildren, Kaylee, Gabrielle, Kingsley, Riley, Dylan, Morgan and Bailie as well as many other family members and friends who loved him greatly.
