Chantelle's Story:   Share & Be Aware

Already burdened by illness, this family is in desperate need of support - both emotionally and financially.  All support is greatly appreciated!

Please read the following summary of Chantelle's medical nightmare!

My husband and I have known Chantelle since she was about 12 years old. She was a typical teen who loved life. After knowing Chantelle for quite sometime she began exhibiting both, continious and recurring symptoms including: allergies, headaches/migrains, pressure and inflamation, sinus issues, lethargy, fatigue and exhaustion. Thus the beginning of a long and lengthy battle for medical attention with many questions and very few answers!

Chantelle was blessed with two beautiful children before having multiple miscarriages while trying for her third. By the age of 26yrs it became difficult for her to work regular hours. Extreme pain, endometriosis, lesions and tumors required that she have a full hysterectomy. The following 5 years presented 3 full sinus surgeries to no avail, the growths continue to return. A recent MRI determined that Chantelle has a new cyst deep within her brain causing excruciating pain. Always self sufficient and a hard worker, the past 18 months has rendered Chantelle unable to work.
This past year Chantelle had blood work done by the BC CDC, which turned out to be "very abnormal", and out of country blood work confirmed diagnosis of Lyme disease.

Finally Chantelle has received a proper diagnosis! Great news, she can now get help. Not to quick... little did she expect this would be one of the most devastating things yet to overcome. Lyme disease is caused by a bacterium call Borrelia Burgdorferi, which is transmitted to humans via the bite of an infected tick. Her parents brought her to the doctors when she was about 10 years old for a bullseye rash under her arm. That doctor prescribed a corticosteroid creme and sent them on their way. It seems to be the consensus, this is when Chantelle contracted Lyme disease.

Lyme disease is incredibly difficult to understand. In its early stages, Lyme disease can be treated effectively with antibiotics. Unfortunately, due to ineffective testing and the lack of medical knowledge it is often left undiagnosed or misdiagnosed making treatment more difficult as the bacteria moves deeper into the tissues of the body.

Since being diagnosed with Lyme disease November 2016, Chantelle has seen several specialists including: gynecologists, gastroenterologist, allergists, immunologist, ENT specialist/surgeons, a neurologist, endocrinologist, naturopaths, cousellors, therapists, message therapists and most recently a disease specialist. Chantelle's state continues to worsen and current symptoms now include partial paralisis, twitching/spasms, numbness and tingling in the face, head, left arm and leg. Memory loss, poor concentration, weakness combined with a feeling of intoxication leaves her often bedridden now. The impact on the whole family is now affected by a poor quality of life.

Chantelle has been in recent contact with a clinic in Germany that specializes in Lyme disease. This is, so far, the only hope and opportunity for recovery for Chantelle's rapidly declining health situation. In addition to other therapies, the process involves a hyperthermic treatment, this is a procedure which involves overheating your body internally in order to kill the bacterium that created the Lyme disease.

We have come to the conclusion we need help! Due to the low-profile of Lyme disease in our country, our medical system fails to recognize the treatment of Lyme. This family's funds have become exhausted supplying the expensive medications and treatments incurred to date. It is our mission, with the help and compassion of others to lessen this young family's financial burden. Reduced stress and continued support will be essential in providing Chantelle the strength needed for her journey of treatments.

Next stage, private clinic tests required: Armin labs testing for Babs, Bart, and Anaplasmosis (IgG and IgM), testing for thyroid (TSH, fT4, fT3, TPO, and rT3), testing for other hormones (estradiol, progesterone, testosterone, dihydrotestosterone, and DHEAs), testing for vitamin D andtesting for toxic metals (both blood and urine). All of these tests are subject to their own individual fees, none of them are covered by our healthcare.

Chantelle has been advised to prepare for costs to exceed an overwhelming $50,000. Our goal is to help raise funds to assist with the cost for initial Hypothermia Treatment as well as maintenance thereafter including prescriptions, medications, immunotherapies, IV treatments, Ozone treatments, vitamin and mineral supplements. In addtion, costs of travel and accomodations to St. Georg Klinik in Bad Aibling, Germany for Hypothermia Treatment.

For those of you who are lucky enough to know this family, will know how great Chantelle's children have been through this illness. It is very hard on the children to see their hero suffer. Despite the complicated schedule involving many doctor visits and the increasing absence due to the illness, the children continue to support their mom in every way they can. The children are preparing for the lengthy absence of the their mom during treatment, however await with great anticipation to finally have there Mom back!!

Please send this family prayers and words of wisdom, anything to help lift their spirits is greatly appreciated!
