Johnson Family Needs our Support

On August 6, Carolyn Johnson was a passenger in a life-threatening car accident where her side was impacted. She is currently at a hospital in Jacksonville, FL, where doctors and nurses are closely monitoring her condition. When she first arrived she was in critical but stable condition, and surgery was not deemed necessary at the time. She had multiple facial bone injuries, internal bleeding, moderate spinal fractures and signs of brain injury. Later that night, the neuroscience team informed the family that based on her updated brain-scans surgery was absolutley necessary to save her life; there was increased bleeding and pressure near her left temporal lobe. In the wee hours of the morning on August 7th, we were told that Carolyn made it through the brain surgery and that she would continue to be evaluated. A few hours after her surgery, the nurse let us know that there was function on the left side of Carolyns body. At this time, Carolyn is no longer sedated and the nurses are noting movement in each of her extremeties at random times. We are encouraged by this news because we see it as a sign that Carolyn is fighting hard. Jim Johnson, her husband, was able to fly out to FL after news from her surgery, and be by her side. Her sons, Lou and Brandon, are on their way to join them. 

We ask that everyone continues to lift the family up in prayer and give whatever they can. The family will need help with medical expenses, any necessary recovery therapies and their travel fees. Please donate any amount of money that you can to ensure that Carolyn gets the best care, and the family has peace of mind knowing they can provide it for her.
