Campaign to End Ocean Mircroplastics Pollution

Hi, my name is Paola.

I've had the huge honour of being selected for @Exxpedition.  A women only, round the world, sailing voyage researching and studying ocean plastics.  

As part of a multi-disciplinary team we will be researching current volumes of microplastics, displacements, all whilst increasing awareness and working on solutions. 

In March- April 2020 I will join the ship in the South Pacific, and will be sailing and collecting data between the Cook Islands and Tonga.   

As part of Exxpedition, I will be conducting workshops and talks in schools, businesses and organisations. I will be using video, Virtual Reality, blogs and outreach work both here in North Wales and in the South Pacific.  

I will also be using this opportunity to further push for our #BubblesNotBombs campaign - hoping to see mass balloon releases banned in Wales and hopefully the UK. 

As a woman in manufacturing, a woman in STEM, a mother, and as founder and 'Bubbler in Chief' at Dr Zigs - I hope that I can make a difference and inspire others to join me in this vital work.
