Please read...family in need of help!

It's time for an update. First of all let me start by saying "Thank You" to all that have donated, and all that have lent support to my wife through this experience. It means the world to us both!  It's been over a year since my wife was diagnosed with breast cancer. At this time (a year later) I really expected to have been getting close to the light at the end of the tunnel. That's how I mentally prepared myself and my wife for the journey to come. I'd say, "Just hold on, the year will be over before we know it, and 2014 will be great!" I expected 2013 to be the worse year we would experience. And I was right, but I did get to prove how much I love my wife. No matter how hard thing got, I was always, and will always be by her side. I know we'll probably be buried in the financial aspect of cancer for the rest of our lives. It turned out to be well over $100k so far. We do our best to keep everything going smooth as possible, for the children's sake. Now for the update. Unfortunately, the light is still in the distance. During our last appointment at Stanford, we were floored once again. My wife's oncologist informed us that during her screenings, cancer was also found in her ovaries. (Ovarian Cancer) She was told that she needs to have a full hysterectomy. So the battle continues. Please read the updates on this page as my wife does them herself. As you may or may not know, my wife has been battling breast cancer for over 10 years now. Starting with her first lumpectomy at the young age of 20. After several repeat procedures, including chemo treatments, the tumors had returned more vicious then ever. With the rapid tumor growth, the oncology surgeon told my wife we had to make a life changing decision. At this point the only unselfish choice for my wife and our family was to have both of her breast removed A.S.A.P to insure her survival. Two weeks after the initial visit, my wife was already scheduled for a STAT Bilateral Mastectomy. By far one of the hardest things our family has ever had to endure.

Many people have been so gracious enough to keep asking how they can donate to help out.  We really appreciate the offers and have decided to create this site. It's been very hard mentally, and emotionally to have had to deal with such a life threatening, and life altering event at a very young age. Not having the best insurance, the financial burden of the procedure is rapidly settling in. Numerous prescriptions costing $500 has already threatened the maintaining of our house hold. (3 wonderful children 13, 4, & 19 months, as well as my wife's mother who we are legal caretakers for). We have not yet received our portion of our co-pay for the surgery and hospital stay. Still not including the additional 6 surgeries, and prescriptions my wife still has to face over the next 8 months. If any of you really know us, you know we don't ask for help. But in this case our backs are against the wall and this financial nightmare is far from over. If you'd like to donate, any amount would be greatly appreciated.
