Ecuador 2017

Hi everyone. My name is Stacey and I am from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. For those of you who already know me you will have heard me talk about the incredible experience I had last year when I travelled to Ecuador, and I am excited to share that I am going again this year.
It was such an incredible opportunity to be part of the medical and humanitarian missions that make such a large impact on so many people.
Since last year I have become even more active volunteer with CVIDS (Canadian Volunteers for Development Society).
Every year we raise money, gather donations and all the volunteers donate their time to fulfill these goals while in Ecuador:
- Perform surgeries
- Complete medical check-ups
- Perform audiograms and supply and install hearing aids
- Provide medication
- Provide shoes, clothing and other basic needs to children.
- Provide toothpaste, delicing medication and train children some basics with hygiene.
Our primary goal this year is to provide as much clean, potable water to as many villages as possible; alongside the medical and other humanitarian needs.
We have raised money throughout the year and are still continuing to do so until we leave for Ecuador on November 17.
Last year, many of you helped me raise money for the mission as well as some of you helped to sponsor my trip. I will take the same approach this year. Donations can be made on the gofundme page, via paypal at cvids.net/donate or by doing an etransfer directly to me. If you want to help sponsor my trip you need to let me know so I can allocate the funds accordingly. If you would like a tax receipt let me know before November 12th! :D
The goal I have set for me to raise is $3000.
For me to have the opportunity to go and help others means an incredible amount. This is a chance for me to share with others, help them grow and simply have a better life. We are fortunate to be where we are and have the privileges we have. Being able to give back to others and help them have a better life would mean the world to me.
This experience would be extremely humbling, grounding, and provide me an experience to open my eyes differently each day. I genuinely cannot express how much it would mean to me to raise this funds necessary to join this group and be part of something so amazing.
Every bit helps, it is a step forward and any donation you can make I do appreciate.
