CP & E : Growing Stronger & Kinder

Three-year-old Eleanor was born prematurely at 32 weeks and later diagnosed with a Traumatic Brain Injury and Moderate Cerebral Palsy at 10 months old.  Eleanor has been showing everyone her tenacity and determination starting from her first days with our NICU Nurses and Neonatologists and every day since with Neurologists, Therapists, Teachers and Friends.

Eleanor has been going to "playtime" with her amazing therapists 3-4 times a week for nearly three years now and has so many emerging skills!  Even at 3 years old she's EMPOWERED to achieve what she desires to achieve and is already defining her own life and abilities as a disabled kiddo.

At the end of 2017 we moved into a home built specially for Eleanor's adaptive needs and have watched her knock down goals ever since.  In the last 8 months Eleanor has learned to crawl up on hands and knees for the first time, go from laying down to sitting up all on her own, maneuver and steer her wheelchair through even the most crowded stores, use and self-propel her own walker and most recently pull herself up to stand!  She's moving at the speed of light and ready to take on more!

Now we have the opportunity for her to spend three weeks gaining strength, stability, and balance at NAPA Intensive Therapy Center in Boston, MA!  Eleanor will go to 4 hours of therapy EVERY DAY for THREE WEEKS!  Intensive Therapies have often times helped kiddos make an entire years-worth of progress in three short weeks and Eleanor will get to use therapy tools and methods that aren't available with our therapists here in North Carolina.

One Amazing Girl - Eleanor!
One Amazing Goal - Raise $7000 by October 20th, 2018 to get us there!

In October 2018 our family of three will pack up and head to Boston, MA for three weeks where we'll join a community of other families and kiddos who are working toward their own therapy goals.  We can't wait to see what she can accomplish and share all of Eleanor's progress with you!
